OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. CP ADEOYE CONTINUES SECURITY STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENTS


_Visits Federal Road Safety Corps, Awka; Receives in audience leadership of Anambra State House of Assembly._

The Commissioner of Police, *CP Aderemi Adeoye* today 18/7/2023 paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Road Safety Corps RS5.3 Anambra State Sector Command.

The *CP* during the discussion with the  Sector Commander sought greater Cooperation and collaboration, especially on matters of traffic management, prosecution of traffic offenders, joint operations etc.

He also visited the *National Vehicle Identification Scheme* (NVIS) Plant, Awka where Vehicle Number Plates are produced. He was presented with a ceremonial number Plate *_”CP ADEOYE"_*by the Sector Commander. He assured the Corps of  sustained deployment of armed police officers to ensure adequate  protection of the facility. 

In the entourage of the *CP* include  CSP Williams Odumu, Ops Officer; CSP Ewere Okundaye, OC SIB and DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, Police PRO.

Later in the day the *CP* received in audience the leadership of the Anambra State House of Assembly led by the Speaker Rt. Hon Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze in his Office at Anambra State Police Command Headquarters, Amawbia, Awka. The Speaker welcome the New Commissioner of Police and express the readiness of the State lawmakers to support the Police and other Security Agencies, especially in making relevant laws that will help in facilitating the administration of criminal justice in the State.

In attendance were Hon. Ofodeme Ikenna - Majority Leader and Member, Representing Ekwusigo;  Hon. Johnbosco Akaegbobi - Minority Leader and Member, Representing Nnewi South 1; Hon. Obu Paul - Minority Whip and Member Representing Orumba North;  Hon. Atuchukwu Nonso - Member Representing Nnewi south 2 and Hon. Igwe Noble - Member Representing Ogbaru 1.
