 NSC DG Hon. Bukola Olopade pays tribute to late Nigerian Football Legend Christian Chukwu The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Nigerian football icon, Christian “Chairman” Chukwu, describing his passing as a monumental loss to the nation. Chukwu, aged 74, passed away on Saturday after a prolonged illness. Widely revered in Nigerian football history, Chukwu captained the Super Eagles to their historic first Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 1980 and later served as the team’s head coach. In an official statement released by the NSC, Hon. Olopade hailed the late footballer as “a true icon, a leader of men, and a national hero.” “Christian Chukwu was not just a footballer; he was a symbol of pride, discipline, and excellence,” Olopade said. “His leadership on and off the field inspired generations, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of millions of Nigeria.

Tragedy struck a family in Nkwelle GRA, near Onitsha in Anambra State, as a man, his wife, children, mother-in-law, and servant met an untimely demise under mysterious circumstances. The shocking incident occurred on the family’s first night after moving into their newly constructed mansion.

The community remains in shock as details surrounding the tragic event remain unclear.

Speculation and unverified reports have begun to circulate, further deepening the mystery. Some anonymous sources suggest that carbon monoxide poisoning may have been the cause, while others claim that the land on which the house was built had a history of controversy, possibly involving occult practices or black magic rituals secretly buried within the premises.

Local authorities have launched a thorough investigation to unravel the truth behind this horrific incident.

The police are working closely with experts in various fields to conduct autopsies and collect evidence from the scene.

Detectives are also interviewing neighbors, family members, and construction workers involved in the project.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
