 BREAKING NEWS ANAMBRA POLICE RECORD FURTHER BREAKTHROUGH IN OGIDI, RECOVER MORE ARMS In continuation of an earlier operation by Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, which led to the arrest of three suspects and recovery of arms in Ogidi on 21st March 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded further breakthrough following sustained investigation and interrogation. The Operatives made additional progress with the arrest of the suspected ringleader of the syndicate, one Chukwuka Anene ‘M’, aged 46 years, who confessed to being the armourer of the gang. The suspect subsequently led Police operatives to the gang’s hideout in Ogidi, where the following items were recovered: two pump-action guns, two locally made Beretta pistols, five rounds of 9mm ammunition, seven live cartridges, a beret linked to a cult group, and body armour. DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND RECORDS MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME AND CRIMINALITY

RECOVERS ONE AK-47 RIFLE LOADED WITH FIVE MAGAZINES, ONE ASSAULT RIFLE LOADED WITH TWO MAGAZINES, TWO PUMP ACTION GUNS, DOUBLE BARREL GUNS, TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION, ONE HUNDRED AND TEN ROUNDS OF CARTRIDGES

 
Sequel to the numerous complaints from residents of Ekpan and environs on the antecedents of kidnappers and armed robbers in Ekpan, Warri, and environs, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Wale Abass psc, ordered the deployment of CSP Aliyu Shaba to Ekpan Police Station with a clear mandate to sanitize the area and ensure that Ekpan and environs are safe for all resident. Consequently, the newly posted DPO, acting on credible intelligence gathered on the hideout of suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, and the location of their weapons, on 03/07/2023 at about 1600hrs, led a combined team of policemen attached to Ekpan division and military personnel of 3 battalion Nigerian army Ekpan, on a sting operation and raided their hideout at Agadaga avenue off Jakpa road, Ekpan, where a thorough search was conducted at an uncompleted building during which one (1) AK-47 Rifle with five (5) magazines loaded with One Hundred and Sixty-one (161) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one (1) Assault Rifle with two magazines loaded with fifty-nine (59) rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, two English pump-action guns, One Hundred and Ten (110) rounds of live cartridges, one (1) Double Barrel gun, one Single Barrel gun, one toy gun, cutlasses, and a bunch of charms wrapped in a cap were retrieved. A frantic effort to arrest the criminal syndicate is ongoing.

The commissioner of Police CP Wale Abass psc solicits maximum cooperation from members of the public, particularly Deltans, especially in the area of making available any useful information that will aid in crime fighting to the Police.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
