 “Nigerians should take it easy on me, I’m really sorry” — Comedian Real Warri Pikin apologises after singer Timaya lifted her on stage Comedian Real Warri Pikin has apologised to Nigerians after a viral moment with singer Timaya at the 2026 AFRIMMA Awards in Dallas sparked reactions online. Real Warri Pikin, who was honoured as Best Stand-Up Comedian at the awards, explained that Timaya had asked for a woman to join him on stage during his performance. She said she initially declined because she did not want to jump, but eventually went on stage.  According to her, Timaya assured her that she would be fine, but the moment became awkward when he lifted her during the performance. She said the incident was entertaining to those present at the event, but admitted that the reaction online was different, with some people making comments suggesting she had crossed boundaries. “Make una take am easy, I beg. 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓: 𝑱𝑮𝑺𝑮 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒚.

Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday, 19th July, 2023 as a work free day to mark the Hijrah 1445 (Islamic New Year).

In a Statement signed by the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila on behalf of Governor Malam Umar A Namadi, the Governor urged Civil Servants and residents in the State to use the day to pray for the State and the country at large.

“The period of the Islamic New Year should remind all people of the countless favours bestowed on them by the Almighty God" the statement read.

“People should use the period to reflect and live their lives based on the teachings of Islam and practice of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“During the occasion, it is expected that all public servants and the entire people of the State will also pray to Almighty Allah for continued protection and guidance of our leaders,” it said.

According to the statement, the Governor also congratulated Muslims around the world on the dawn of the new Islamic year (1445AH).

It will be recall that the Sultanate Council Declared Wednesday as 1st of MUHARRAM 1445H (19th July 2023) due to lack of positive sighting Yesterday Night Tuesday.
