Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court. Jigawa State Government has declared Wednesday, 19th July, 2023 as a work free day to mark the Hijrah 1445 (Islamic New Year).

In a Statement signed by the Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila on behalf of Governor Malam Umar A Namadi, the Governor urged Civil Servants and residents in the State to use the day to pray for the State and the country at large.

“The period of the Islamic New Year should remind all people of the countless favours bestowed on them by the Almighty God" the statement read.

“People should use the period to reflect and live their lives based on the teachings of Islam and practice of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“During the occasion, it is expected that all public servants and the entire people of the State will also pray to Almighty Allah for continued protection and guidance of our leaders,” it said.

According to the statement, the Governor also congratulated Muslims around the world on the dawn of the new Islamic year (1445AH).

It will be recall that the Sultanate Council Declared Wednesday as 1st of MUHARRAM 1445H (19th July 2023) due to lack of positive sighting Yesterday Night Tuesday.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
