 2027: Seyi Tinubu’s Endorsements, Obasa’s Outburst Set Tone For Lagos Gov’ship The endorsements of President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election have sparked widespread debate, with significant political players weighing in, Daily Trust reports. On Tuesday, the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), a body comprising youth groups from across the six geopolitical zones, endorsed Seyi Tinubu for Lagos governor. The endorsement was announced after an extensive meeting in Owerri. LAGOS FIXES SATURDAY JULY 15 FOR 2023 PLACEMENT TEST BY CAS


The Lagos State Ministry of Education has announced that the Year 2023 Placement Test by Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS) has been scheduled for Saturday, 15th July, 2023 at all Schools' Centres across the State.

A release signed by the Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu informed all concerned stakeholders in the Public and Approved Private Primary Schools in the State that the test would be conducted simultaneously in all the centres.

 

He, therefore, enjoined the stakeholders in the affected schools to take note of the date and ensure that their pupils fully participate in the test in compliance with the "No child should be left behind" Policy of the State Government.

Orunsolu equally solicited the cooperation of School Owners and Headteachers of the concerned schools for a hitch-free exercise.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
