In a blog post that has now been published by many international media organisations, in an apparent well-coordinated public relations effort, Binance Chief Executive Officer Richard Teng made false allegations of bribery against unidentified Nigerian government officials who he claimed demanded $150m in cryptocurrency payments to resolve the ongoing criminal investigation against the company.  This claim by Binance CEO lacks any iota of substance. It is nothing but a diversionary tactic and an attempted act of blackmail by a company desperate to obfuscate the grievous criminal charges it is facing in Nigeria. Nasarawa APC congratulates Abdullahi on emergence as House Speaker

The All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State has congratulated the newly elected Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Abdullahi.

Abdullahi’s major contender for the position, Daniel Ogazi, stepped down from the race on Friday after briefing journalists about his intention to fully support the Speaker who had occupied the position for the past eight years.

In a statement signed by the state’s Publicity Secretary of the party, Douglas Otaru, and made available to our correspondent in Lafia on Saturday, the party said the successful election and subsequent swearing-in of Abdullahi were a victory for the people of Nasarawa State.

The party lamented that the recent crisis which engulfed the Assembly was caused by some politicians who did not want residents of the state to continue to live in peace and harmony.

The statement reads, “May we use this medium to on behalf of the executive and members of the APC, congratulate the entire members of the 7th Assembly for the successful and harmonious resolution which has resulted in the eventual inauguration of Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi as the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.

“Some people who take advantage of any crisis for their personal interest had been the ones who instigated the prolonged circle of the impasse.

“The Nasarawa State APC commends Ogazi and other factional members for their show of patriotism. We look forward to a more robust and impactful legislative tenure in office, and we are urging all the 24 members to support the programmes and policies of Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to ensure rapid development for our dear state.”

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
