 Carrick favourite for Man Utd caretaker role Michael Carrick has emerged as favourite to be appointed Manchester United caretaker head coach, according to sources close to the process. Club chiefs are hoping to have an appointment in place for when players return to training on Wednesday. While a final decision is yet to be reached, talks are said to have progressed with the 44-year-old over the position. Carrick previously had a three-game stint as United's temporary boss following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's dismissal in 2021. He won two and drew one of those matches but left after Ralf Rangnick's arrival as interim manager. Solskjaer held face-to-face discussions with the club on Saturday about a return. United sacked Ruben Amorim as manager after 14 months in the job on 5 January. One of the suspects involved in the attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman’s convoy has been arrested.

One of the suspects involved in the attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman’s convoy on October 21, 2022, has been arrested.

The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said operatives of the Intelligence Rapid Team arrested Yusuf Ismail Isa following an intensive investigation.

Adejobi said; 

“Following an intensive investigation into the fatal attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Auchi, on October 21, 2022, along with Benin police personnel, who were gruesomely murdered, the operatives of FIB-IRT on Auchi road comprising six people, including three of the assailants, apprehended one Yusuf Ismael Isah ‘m’, a native of Okene, Kogi State and a plumber, at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State and recovered five Ak47 Rifles, two K2 Assault rifles, 180 live ammunition and 4 suspected IEDs were found in his apartment.”

Yusuf Ismail Isa confessed to being one of the seven gunmen that attacked the convoy and killed three policeman when being paraded before newsmen.

Isa disclosed that it was an assassination attempt but said he doesn’t know the reason behind it. He further revealed that he wielded an AK-47 during the attack.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
