EL-RUFAI TO REMAIN IN CUSTODY AS COURT ADJOURNS BAIL APPLICATION TO APRIL 14.(PHOTO).

 El-Rufai to remain in custody as court adjourns bail application to April 14 Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of a Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14th. The bail application of the former governor came up before the court today. April 1. The court adjourned the case after listening to arguments from both the defence and prosecution  El-Rufai was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion of public property and money laundering. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The court ordered that he remain in ICPC custody pending the hearing of his bail application on the fixed date. The former governor arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, accompanied by DSS officials.

ROBBERY ATTACK THAT TOOK PLACE TODAY,SATURDAY 29/07/23,AT GOLD WISE SHOP, OPPOSITE KILIMANJARO FAST FOOD,IKENEGBU OWERRI

Today is the last Saturday of the month slated to be monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise in Imo State.  Many businesses/shops were not opened, people and vehicular movement restricted until around 1000hrs when the exercise was supposed to stop. 
Between 1130hours and 1200hours, movement of people were still scanty around Ikenegbu and Armed Robbers on Army camouflage and black uniform attacked GOLD WISE SHOP where gold ornaments and jewelries are sold.

FINDINGS:
< The Robbers with Sienna vehicle, numbering about Five(5)on security attires  stormed the shop,fully Armed to the teeth.
< They first shot the Police officer on duty at the building and gained entrance to the shop.
< They loaded two(2)full bags containing gold ornaments and jewelries before they zoomed off.
< Luck ran against them as all the exit roads and corners were blocked with cars by young men who were aware of the robbery.
< A Police Officer with rifle on an errand,then fired at the driver on the head which brought their vehicle to a halt.
< The Robbers took to their heels for their safety leaving what they stole and started shooting in return.
< Two(2) of the Robbers were captured,two(2) escaped and one died at the spot(the driver).
< They were taken to the State Police Command, Owerri.
