  PRESS RELEASE NATIONAL POLICE DAY: NPF SETS TO HOST MAIDEN EDITION  APRIL 7 Weeklong Activities to Culminate in Grand Parade at Eagle Square. The Nigeria Police Force is set to host the maiden edition of National Police Day on April 7, 2025, at Eagle Square, Abuja. This historic event, which will run from April 2 to April 7, 2025, will feature a series of impactful humanitarian and community-based activities, including medical outreaches, community engagements, exhibitions by security companies and partners, among other programs aimed at fostering stronger police-community relations. Popular Akwa Ibom pastor di!s two days after officiating funeral service

The Lead Pastor of The Evening Church in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Runcie Mike, has dil!ed two days after officiating the funeral service of one of his members, the 36-year-old daughter of a popular broadcaster.

According to The Nation, the Pastor whose church is located at the Shopping Mall, Tropicana Centre, Uyo was said to have died on Saturday, July 1, in Uyo.

Survived by a wife and two children, he was said to have died after a brief sickness.

When the news broke, many of the church members thought it was fake news. But the leadership of the church later confirmed the sad development.

“In this time of grief, we enjoin the body of Christ to hold us up in prayers and most especially, His immediate family,” the church leadership announced.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
