 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. President Tinubu Appoints New Customs Deputy Comptroller-Generals


    
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed three Deputy Comptroller-Generals of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

In a statement on Friday, the spokesman of the Service, Abdullahi Maiwada, said the president appointed F O Okun, MBA Musa and A Hamisu as Deputy Comptroller-Generals of the NCS.

Maiwada also said President Tinubu appointed three new Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) namely K Olumoh,  AB Mohammed and A Alajogun.

According the Service spokesman, the appointment of the new Customs top management followed the appointment of the Acting Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi on June 19.

Maiwada said the acting Comptroller-General, thanked the retired members of the management for their meritorious service.

He also congratulated the newly appointed Officers and charged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.
