 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. Suspected ritualist arrested with human skull in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritualist for possession of a human skull.
 
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, disclosed this during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo on Friday. 
 
According to the CP, the suspect, Edu Ime, was arrested at Urua Ekpa Junction, around Calabar-Itu Highway.
 
"On 15/05/2023, at about 8:05pm, one Edu Udeme Ime of Mbak Etoi Village, UYO was arrested at Urua Ekpa junction by the Command's Quick Response Squad for being in possession of human skull,” he stated. 
 
"The suspect could not give any reasonable explanation as to why he was in possession of same but named their ring leader who is a suspected ritualist.
 
In another development, police arrested two airport vandals. 
 
“On 3/5/2023, at about 11:05pm, in a coordinated operation, the duo of Enyeneokpo Ubeh of Ikot Antia Village and Gabriel Essien of Ndon Ebom village, both in Uruan LGA were arrested by Operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Command for vandalizing and stealing part of the airport gate facing the Okobo axis of the Victor Attah International Airport. Some of the e vandalized parts have been recovered and efforts are being made to arrest other fleeing gang members,” the CP added..
