 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. TCC Awka South Declares War Against Insecruity, Filty Envionment Too

The Transition Committee Chairman, Awka south LGA, Mr ThankGod Anagor has declared a total war against insecurity and filty environment in Awka South LGA where he oversees.


The chairman made the declaration while conducting media men and other personalities round the sites where massive clearing work was ongoing in his effort to keep his environment clean and secure lives and properties within it.


Anagor who said that what he is doing is in line with the policy of the state government to make Anambra State liveable and comfortable, explained that there is no hiding place for undesirable elements within his LGA.


Conducting the media men round the parade field beside the Sports Club and behind the Anambra State Police Area Command Awka as well as the surrounding oppsite the Governor's Lodge, spreading down to the nearby stream where massive bush clearing and removal of debris had been done, the chairman said that thesame would be done in other locations within his LGA.


He declared point blank that he is averse to insecurity, therefore, would not allow any enemy to have any hiding place in the environment under his watch, saying that it is a total war against insecurity, pointing out that everywhere would be opened up and cleared to avoid giving room to any form of insecurity.


Highly pleased with the work the chairman was doing, some of the police officers who were around commended him for a job well done and encouraged him to keep it up. (MOI)
