  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. 2Baba celebrates baby mama Pero on birthday

Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer, Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia has celebrated his first baby mama, Pero Adeniyi, on her birthday.
Pero, the dark-skinned beauty who has three children with the famous singer, shared an Instagram post thanking God and wishing herself a happy birthday.

Her Instagram post featured a series of captivating photos and was accompanied by the uplifting soundtrack of “See What the Lord Has Done” by the celebrated gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey.

Its caption read: “It has been you, Lord, and it will forever be you! THANK YOU, LORD!

Happy birthday to ME! #iyaawonomoolorire #Billiondollarbaby.”

The father of seven in the comment section of the post sent his warm wishes to his kids’ mom on her natal day celebration.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
