OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. BENUE ASSEMBLY SCREENED AND CONFIRMS GOV. ALIA COMMISSIONERS NOMINEES.

The Benue State House of Assembly today  17th August 2023 confirms The list of  commissioner nominees appointed by His Excellency,  Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia to the Assembly for screening and confirmation.


The speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Aondona Dajoh while carrying out the process put the question for the confirmation of the commissioners one by one across to members seeking their consent before hitting the Gavel.


"Will the House confirms the nomination of Hon. Tiza Imojime?


 Those in favor say aye! Those against say Naye! The Ayes have it.


 Hon Itiza Isaac Imojime  is therefore confirmed as commissioner in the Cabinet of Benue state."


The Honorable Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Aondona Dajoh  appreciates members for taking out time from their recess to come back and carry out the important assignment to move the state forward.


The speaker called upon those found worthy to be commissioner by the Governor, screened and confirmed by the Assembly to see their appointment as a call to duty to humanity and give in their best to help the Executive Governor of Benue State to deliver on his campaign promises to the people of the state.
