 Family and neighbors mourn woman shot by ICE agent after making Minneapolis her home  Before she was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, 37-year-old Renee Good had just dropped her youngest child off at an elementary school in Minneapolis, the city she and her family had recently begun to call home. As Trump administration officials continued Thursday to describe Good as a domestic terrorist who tried to ram federal agents with her Honda Pilot, those who knew her remembered someone very different: a gentle, kind, and openhearted mother, wife, and neighbor. ENHANCED SYNERGY: IGP VISITS MINISTRY OF POLICE AFFAIRS, BRIEFS NEW MINISTERS


The Inspector General of Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D., on Thursday 31st August, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Police Affairs today to congratulate and brief the newly appointed Ministers on the internal security situation of the country, emphasizing the need for enhanced synergy in tackling the evolving security challenges facing our nation.

During the visit, the IGP who was accompanied by the members of the Force Management Team, had fruitful discussions with the Honourable Minister, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, and the Minister of State, Hajia Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, addressing critical issues such as the state of national security, ongoing police reforms, and strategies to enhance collaboration between the NPF and the Ministry of Police Affairs.

Recognizing the significance of modernizing the NPF and promoting community-oriented policing programs, the Honourable Minister assured the IGP of the Ministry’s unwavering support towards the implementation of key reforms and initiatives. They acknowledged the pivotal role played by the police in maintaining law and order and pledged their dedication to providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, and training required for the Force to efficiently discharge its duties and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

The IGP emphasized that the visit highlights the undeniable need for collaborative efforts for improved security architecture in the nation. He reiterated the importance of creating an enabling environment for officers and urged all stakeholders to support the ongoing reform efforts of the current administration.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
