 FG constitutes committee to study impact of new US tariffs The Federal Government has set up a subcommittee to evaluate the potential economic impact of the recent trade tariff by the United States government. A Friday statement issued by the director of information and public relations at the ministry, Mohammed Manga, said the decision came after a meeting of the Economic Management Team (EMT), chaired by Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy. While Nigeria’s main export – crude oil – is not directly targeted by the new US tariffs, these policy changes have happened at the same time as falling international oil prices. This timing raises concerns about possible pressure on Nigeria’s revenue and budget. Every husband and wife that eventually divorce are two föölish people - Pastor Femi Emmanuel 

Lagos-based clergyman, Femi Emmanuel, has described a husband and wife that eventually resort to divorce as two ‘’foolish people''. 

 In a video making the rounds on social media, the clergyman while preaching in his church, said;

‘’If you are wise, your marriage will be peaceful. Every husband and wife fighting everyday, that eventually divorce and scatter were just two foolish people. If somebody wants to fight you and you are not ready to fight, there will be no fight. 

He hit you, you are going. He ran after you and pulled your jacket, when he pulled the jacket, you are going. After a while, onlookers will say ‘ah ah’, something must be wrong with you.''
Speaking further, he said;

‘’What is in a man that you cannot live at peace with a woman? What is in a man? The heart of a man is a power steering car. With one finger, you can control it. If you are wise, you can control the man. They will think you have done charm on him. He will just be following you. Anything you ask him to do, he will do. He will be calling you baby even if you are 67. Give a man what no one else can give him, he will be following you''

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
