 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. FRSC IMO SACKED ONE OF IT’S OFFICERS FOR JOINING NLC PROTEST. (PHOTO).

The Imo command of the Federal Road Safety Commission has sacked one of its officers for joining members of the Nigerian Labour Congress to protest on Wednesday, August 2, while wearing the special marshals' uniform.


 


Sector Commander of the FRSC in Imo, Evaristus Ebeniro announced the official's sack, adding that he has been de-marshaled and no longer an officer of the corps. 


He revealed that the official who was summoned as a result of inactivity and lack of commitment to duties, absconded and was therefore de-marshaled in absentia in line with the rules of the corps. He was later arrested before his uniform was recovered from him. 


 


Ebeniro said;


 


“The incident prompted the Command to commence investigation to unravel the identity of the protester. 


“It is now confirmed that the protester who happened to be a unionist was once a special marshal. 


“The Command hereby makes it categorically and unequivocally clear that the protester is no longer with the Corps and that he acted alone in that show of shame “
