 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. Islamic Calendar: SULTAN DECLARES FRIDAY AS 1st DAY OF SAFAR  

Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar has declared Friday the 18th of August 2023 as the first day of Safar 1445 After Hijira 

Chairman Advisory Committee on religious affairs Sultanate council, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, made this known in a statement 

The statement said Wednesday being the 16th of August equivalent to the twenty ninth of Muharram 1445 AH, the committee didn't receive any Report from the various Moon sighting committees across the country confirming the sighting of the crescent of Safar .

It noted that today being the seventeen of August equivalent to thirtieth of Muharram 1445AH, the Sultan has accepted the report and accordingly declared Tomorrow, Friday as the first day of the new moon.
