 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. Islamic Calendar: SULTAN DECLARES FRIDAY AS 1st DAY OF SAFAR  

Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar has declared Friday the 18th of August 2023 as the first day of Safar 1445 After Hijira 

Chairman Advisory Committee on religious affairs Sultanate council, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, made this known in a statement 

The statement said Wednesday being the 16th of August equivalent to the twenty ninth of Muharram 1445 AH, the committee didn't receive any Report from the various Moon sighting committees across the country confirming the sighting of the crescent of Safar .

It noted that today being the seventeen of August equivalent to thirtieth of Muharram 1445AH, the Sultan has accepted the report and accordingly declared Tomorrow, Friday as the first day of the new moon.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
