 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court. Islamic Scholar Condemns Looting Of Warehouses In Yola

The recent looting of warehouses by some hoodlums in Yola has continued to receive condemnation from various quotes.

Recent among them was coming from the Chief Imam of Aggah Islamic Centre, Sheikh Hassan Minkail during the presentation of the Juma'at sermon.

Sheikh Minkail described the recent looting as unacceptable in Islam, urging Muslims to be wary of the dangers of doing such.

He added that Islam prohibits believers from taking something not belong to them and called them to exercise patience with the current situation.

Among the dignitaries that observed the Juma'at prayers was Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, Secretary to the State Government Awwal Tukur, Vice-chancellor Mau Yola Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur among others.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
