 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. Jigawa State Government Pays Over 18.6m Naira Study Allowances To LG Staff

Jigawa State Local Government Service commission says it has paid over Eighteen point Six Million naira as a study allowance to Local Government staff studying at various tertiary Institutions in the country.

The Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Uba Bala Ringim stated this while presenting the cheques to some of the students in his office.

He explained that, the gesture is part of the state government effort towards encouraging local government staff to further their studies.

Alhaji Uba Bala Ringim said, the State governmentT will continue to pay the study allowance in order to encourage the local government staff to further their education in different fields from various institute of higher learning in Nigeria.

In his address, the Permanent Commissioner in the Commission , Alhaji Salisu Mu’azu Kanya urged the beneficiaries to contribute their quota towards the development of the state.

He also called on them to continue to support the state Government’s policies and programmes to achieve the desired objectives.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria, commended the state government for the gesture.

They also commended the local government service commission for their support to settle their study allowances.
