 Sudan urges displaced citizens abroad to return home Sudan has called on all displaced citizens living abroad to return home, as the government steps up efforts to facilitate voluntary repatriation and remove barriers facing returnees. Prime Minister Kamil Idris said his office is committed to easing the return process and ensuring citizens can actively contribute to rebuilding the country, state media SUNA reports. Speaking during a visit to the Ashkeit border crossing in Wadi Halfa, Idris said authorities have taken steps to eliminate illegal levies and ensure that returning citizens are not subjected to additional fees, compulsory charges or arbitrary customs duties. He noted that such practices had previously placed an unnecessary burden on citizens without benefiting the state. Meet Nigerian businessman who owns a football club in Portugal


Not everyone will know him but his name will ring a bell in the ears of sports lovers.

Kunle Soname is a Nigerian politician, entrepreneur, sports enthusiast and chairman of Bet9ja, a betting website he founded in 2013.


He is the first Nigerian to acquire a European club C.D. Feirense which he bought in 2015.


Remo Stars Football Club previously known as FC DENDER was founded by Soname in 2004.


The club relocated from Lagos State to the Remo area of Ogun State and is playing in the Nigerian Premier League’s Top Division.


He is the founder of the private Nigerian airline ValueJet.


Soname studied Estate Management at Obafemi Awolowo University where he graduated in 1988.


He ventured into politics in 2003 and was elected as the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-isheri Local Council a post he held till 2011.


In 2022, he was inducted as a patron at the University of Lagos for his philanthropic activities.


Soname is married to Kemi Soname and they have a daughter Erioluwa.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
