 Group demands declaration of Aba North Assembly seat vacant, threatens protest A group known as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has mandated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the Aba North seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been a subject of controversy since November 27, 2023, when the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos sacked Destiny Nwagwu of LP and declared Aaron Uzodike of the PDP, the duly elected member to represent Aba North. However, the seat has remained unoccupied since November 2023, as Uzodike of PDP has not been inaugurated by the Speaker, despite his several appeals. A fresh controversy erupted Friday, as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youths Groups, asked the Speaker to declare the seat vacant within seven days or expect a city-wide protest in Aba. My love for Reggae music inspired by Bob Marley’s songs – El-Rufai

The immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has shared that his love for Reggae music is due to the songs and music of the late Jamaican legend, Bob Marley.

El-Rufai stated this on his handle on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday morning.

He tweeted, “Bob Marley of the blessed memory is one of most talented musicians of all time. My love for reggae music is connected with his songs and music.”

He also mentioned that one of Marley’s songs, ‘Who The Cap Fit,’ is one of his favourites.

“Who The Cap Fit – Bob Marley & The Wailers is one of my favourites from the 1970s. Enjoy your Sunday with the song and lyrics that are timeless.”

El-Rufai further shared some lyrics of the song which goes thus, “Man to man is so unjust, children. Ya don’t know who to trust. Your worst enemy could be your best friend. And your best friend, your worst enemy.”

He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
