 TROOPS STALL TERRORISTS'  MISSION TO ATTACK COMMUNITY, NAB SUSPECTED GUN RUNNERS IN ADAMAWA, SEIZE ARMS Troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for Counter terrorism operations in North East Nigeria, in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force, have successfully intercepted a group of terrorists on transit to unleash attack in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.  The troops on fighting patrol near Wuro Jabbe encountered the terrorists who were on a mission to attack the community. Troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce fire-fight that compelled them to succumb and abandon their firearms. The troops captured one  PKM Machine Gun, 402 rounds of 7.62 mm x 54 NATO ammunition and 110 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO. In a separate but related operation, troops responding to actionable intelligence intercepted 3 persons suspected of gun running in the Sukuk Community, located in the Madagali Local Government Area of the state. Niger Republic Suspended From African Union

The  African Union (AU) has suspended Niger from all its activities following the military coup last month.

 AU Peace and Security Council called on all of its member states and the international community to refrain from any action that could legitimise the junta in Niger.

It reiterated calls for the coup leaders to release the elected President Mohamed Bazoum has proven abortive. 

The West African regional grouping Ecowas has already threatened military action to reinstate him.

Niger's junta has said that civilian rule cannot be restored for three years, but this has been dismissed by Ecowas as unacceptable.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
