 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Gov. Zulum Celebrates Return of Peace as NYSC Opens Orientation Camp Maiduguri After 12 Years Of Closure.

Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum attend the NYSC Orientation Camp swearing in of Corp members posted to Borno state at the temporary NYSC Orientation Camp Arabic Teacher college Maiduguri.

The NYSC state coordinator in his remarks thank the Executive Governor of Borno state and the stakeholders for efforts put in place and working with the NYSC management to see NYSC Orientation Camp resume in Borno state after the 12 Years of the closure now the orientation camp has been Reopened for activities this is indeed shows that peace has gradually return to Borno state. He charged the Prospective Corp members to be diligent in their PPA to serve their father Land.

Gov. Zulum in his address Thanked Almighty Allah for witnessing this remarkable day of Reopening of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Borno state after 12 years of closure of the camp due to insecurity and today NYSC Camp activities have resumed in Borno State, This is a clear indication that peace has returned  to the state. He also acknowledged the bold step taken by the Corp members posted to Borno state who come down to the state for their mandatory youths service, "We welcome you all and Borno is a place for hospitality and the state has been enjoying peace, Borno state government has continues paying corp members their state allowance without any issues he wish them successful service year in Borno state".
