 A group of middle school students are being hailed as heroes after stopping a runaway bus and saving the driver who was suffering a medical emergency.  Five students from Hancock Middle School, in Hancock County, Mississippi, saved the day on April 22nd when their bus driver, 47-year-old Leah Taylor, blacked out during an acute asthma attack. Leah was in the process of attempting to self administer medication when she blacked out. The bus was loaded with around 40 children when 12-year-old Jackson Casnave noticed the bus beginning to swerve.  Jackson wasted no time jumping into action. He rushed to take control of the wheel while calling for help. His plea for help was answered by 4 additional brave students. 12-year-old Darius Clark rushed to Jackson's aid and began hitting the brakes. Otti duly resigned from APC before joining LP – Abia Gov’s aide counters tribunal witnesses

The reports that Governor Alex Otti did not resign his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2022 before joining the Labour Party, LP have been described as false and ridiculous by Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the governor.

Ekeoma while reacting to the reports, blamed politicians in opposition parties for allegedly sponsoring the falsehood.

He alleged that the APC witness who testified in the ongoing Abia State governorship election petition tribunal against his boss, Alex Otti is not a genuine member of the party but an impostor allegedly engaged to do dirty jobs against the governor.

Ekeoma ‘s statement read, ”Governor Alex Otti duly resigned his membership of the APC at his ward in line with the provisions of the constitution before joining the Labour Party.

”His resignation letter was duly received and acknowledged by the then ward Chairman who prior to that time was recognised at all levels as the Ward Chairman.

“The individual being paraded by the defeated APC Governorship candidate Chief Ikechi Emenike as the APC Chairman of Ward 5 Isialangwa South LGA is an impostor hired to do a failed dirty job, so he and his paymasters should be ignored.

“The very unpopular and roundly defeated APC and PDP candidates have realised how terribly bad their cases in court are, having failed woefully to prove that they even stood a chance of winning the Governorship election, have now resorted to disinformation and mischief while hoping to actualize the impossible mission of stealing the people’s mandate through the back door”

“Finally, Governor Otti wishes to reassure Abians, that the mandate unanimously given to him is safe and secure and can never be stolen by those who merchandise politics for personal gains, and that he would continue to serve the people with passion and sincerity.”

Recalls that two witnesses, Friday Ugorji who testified as PW2 in the Ikechi Emenike’s election petition had told the tribunal that governor Alex Otti did not resign his membership of APC before joining the LP.

He also told the tribunal that he is the Chairman of APC Ward 5 in Isiala Ngwa South LGA.

Another witness, Alozie Macsolomon also made the same claim against Otti.

But Ekeoma in his reaction, dismissed the reports, saying that his boss did all the proper things before leaving APC.
