 France records first Ebola case in doctor returning from DR Congo France confirmed its first imported Ebola case after a humanitarian doctor returned from a mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Health Ministry said Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported. The patient, who had returned from an area where the virus is circulating in Congo, was immediately admitted to a specialised healthcare facility and is in stable condition, the ministry said in a statement. “All precautionary measures, including the patient's isolation, were taken upon his arrival in the country,” it added, saying the transfer to hospital was carried out under secure conditions to prevent any risk of contamination. French health authorities said a full epidemiological investigation is underway to identify people who may have been in contact with the patient. Police arrests 94 year old man for allegedly defiling a minor

The police in Adamawa state have arrested a 94-year-old man identified as Mohammed Abubakar, for allegedly d£filing a 13-year-old minor in Tappare ward, Ganye local government area. 

The suspect who has been identified as a herbalist, is said to have been in the habit of deceiving young females by giving them sweet items. The police said on August 12 while the victim was passing by the suspect's house, he called her into the house and took advantage of her by having an unlawful c@rnal knowledge of her. 

‘’Investigation, so far reveals that the suspect while committing the act rubbed some concoction in the form of perfume on the victim. Which made the victim ill after the incident. It was as a result of the illness when questioned by her mother, she opened up to her about what had happened.'' The police said
 
The incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters Ganye, by the mother of the victim.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the state Commissioner of police CP Afolabi Babatola who frowned at the ugly incident has directed the officer in charge of the Family support unit of the command to take over the investigation and ensure diligent prosecution of the perpetrator. 

The Police Boss equally calls on the members of the public particularly parents to be watchful of their wards against criminally minded elements and key into the Command's effort in fighting to end all forms of Gender-based violence.
