 PRESS RELEASE  FG TO PRIORITIZE  RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN THE FACE OF LOW OIL PRICES The Federal Government of Nigeria will pursue diversification of its revenues and adopt greater prudent resource allocation measures to mitigate the impact of low oil prices should it continue, according to Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. Speaking at a meeting with investors during the ongoing IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC yesterday, Mr Wale Edun emphasized that with the recent reforms embarked upon by the present administration, Nigeria is better positioned to deal with global economic uncertainties. Tribunal sacks Kano House of Reps Member, Yerima over fake certificate


The National and State House of Assembly elections petition tribunal, in Kano on Thursday nullified the election of member representing Tarauni Federal Constituency at the house of representatives Muktar Yerima.


Yerima was declared winner of the February 18th 2023 election under the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hafizu Kawu.


The former member of the House of Representatives, Kawu petitioned the tribunal, challenging the legitimacy of Yerima’s victory on the basis of a fake certificate.


Delivering the judgement on Thursday, the three-panel Justices upheld Kawu’s petition and nullified the sitting NNPP member’s election.
