 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. Unrepentant 53-year-old car snatcher rearrested in Ogun

Men of the Ogun state police command have rearrested an unrepentant car snatcher, Sunday Dosunmu, for committing the same crime that took him to prison. A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Omolola Odutola, says the suspect was previously apprehended by Divisional Police Officer Kemta CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, on the 17th September 2022 at Olorunsogo Ogun State while trying to steal a car parked along with his syndicate bank who was recently released from prison has resumed same act that he was previously arrested for.

Odutola said on August 12 at about 1930hrs along Eleme Ogun State, Sunday in his habitual act was caught again by youths of that area, while using fabricated master keys to unlock some cars within that area.

‘’People who saw him raised the alarm which made him take to flight, but how far can a 53yrs old man run? The young guys gave him a hot chase and caught up with him, they later alerted the police team that visited to the scene and arrested the suspect. Two fabricated iron master key was found in his possession and obviously it is part of the instrument used to unlock unsuspecting car owners vehicles, he gets into the vehicle and drives the car away.

A plea of double jeopardy will not suffice if there was no acquittal on a thorough investigation, he may have been released on want of evidence. However this time, the Police will prosecute him to ensure that justice is served since he has not repented irrespective of his age. ‘’ Odutola said

The police spokesperson mentioned that the state Commissioner of Police has been briefed and he has directed that thorough evidences are brought forward to the Court so as to ensure Sunday Dosunmu learns his lessons.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
