SENATE ADJOURNS EMERGENCY PLENARY ON STATE POLICE OVER REP’S DEATH. The Senate today suspended consideration of the highly anticipated State Police Bill and all other legislative business at its emergency plenary session to honour the memory of Hon. Yaya Tongo, a member of the House of Representatives, whose death cast a sombre mood over the National Assembly. Why I keep my private life off social media – Aisha Lawal

Nollywood actress, Aisha Lawal, is undoubtedly doing well in her career, but unlike some of her colleagues, she does not share much of her private life on social media.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, she stated that it was intentional. She said, “I am a typical Yoruba girl. I grew up in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The Yorubas have a saying that what is hidden has more prestige. Also, my mum is a retired principal, and she does not take nonsense. I try as much as possible to avoid anything my children would be embarrassed to read about in the future.”

She added that though some actors believed that getting involved in controversies would boost their careers, it was equally important to have a clean record.

She said, “There is a saying in the industry that every publicity (whether positive or negative) is good publicity. But, I think having a clean record is also good. Whatever one writes on a clean blackboard would be clearly seen, but of there are a lot of jargons on the board, whatever is written on it won’t be too clear.”
