U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates.  APC Vows To Arrest Anyone If They Protest, Disrupt President Tinubu UN Outing

The APC said Nigerians living in US must be wary of a planned protest ahead of President Tinubu’s visit to the United Nations General Assembly on September 20.

The United States chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that any Nigerian who “disrupts” the visit of President Bola Tinubu with protests “will face arrest and prosecution to the fullest extent of the legal framework.”

The APC said Nigerians living in US must be wary of a planned protest ahead of President Tinubu’s visit to the United Nations General Assembly on September 20.

Tinubu is expected to address the 78th Session of the high-level UNGA General Debate at the UN headquarters in New York.

He will be the fifth African leader to speak on day one of the gathering, according to the list of speakers released by the Office of the General Assembly President.

The President’s proposed visit has however generated mixed feelings with some Nigerians in the Diaspora saying they would resist his coming.

Reacting in a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chairman of the United States chapter of the APC, Prof. Tai Balofin, claimed that a suspended party member, Adesegun Labinjo, was allegedly masterminding the rally.
