 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. ASHIA commences third phase enrollment exercise of beneficiaries into BHCPF

The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) has commenced the third phase enrollment of beneficiaries into the Basic Healthcare Provision fund (BHCPF) provided by the Federal Government of Nigeria and implemented through State Health Insurance Schemes.


The BHCPF, which was officially launched on January 18, 2021 is a Federal Government initiative that covers 100% of the cost of receiving healthcare services for the disabled, vulnerable and poor indigenes of the State. 


Explaining reasons behind the additional enrollment, the Managing Director (MD) of ASHIA, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi said, “the plan is to replace the deceased or those enrollees that have never used the programme since inception, with the community members whose names are in the state social register. 


He further noted that this phase of enrollment will focus on the under-five children, pregnant women, the elderly and those with disability from the register to benefit from the programme.


The program according to Dr. Onyemaechi will ensure that the health indices of the state improves rapidly, as access will be expanded to the poor members of the society to quality healthcare services.


He encouraged Ndi Anambra to utilise the services provided by the scheme instead of continuing with the practise of patronising quacks for serious health challenges that have resulted in preventable death among our people. (Ministry of Information)
