 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Coco Gauff wins first U.S. Open trophy

Coco Gauff came from one set down on Saturday to defeat Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka to clinch her first US Open title.
The 19 year-old American defeated the 25 year-old woman who will become World No. 1 on Monday 2-6 6-3 6-2.
Gauff will be the 10th teen to win the U.S. Open women’s singles championship — and the youngest American to claim the title since Serena Williams won in 1999 at the age of 17.
With the win, Gauff also became the first American to win a U.S. Open title since Sloane Stephens in 2017.
She clinched the U.S. Open trophy in her second Grand Slam final, the first in the French Open.
Some other young female winners of the U.S. Open were:
Tracy Austin who won in 1979 at 16 years, eight months and 28 days; Martina Hingis won in 1997 at the age of 16 years, 11 months, eight days; while Monica Seles won in 1991 at 17 years, nine months and five days.
