 NIGERIAN FILM "MY FATHER’S SHADOW" MAKES HISTORY, SET TO PREMIERE AT Y2025 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL  . . . "This is a proud moment for Lagos and Nigeria" - Sanwo-Olu The Nigerian film industry has scored a major international milestone as "My Father’s Shadow", a powerful drama rooted in the country's political and cultural history, is set to premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival this May. Written by Wale Davies and Directed and co-written by Akinola Davies Jr., "My Father’s Shadow" is a collaborative production between Nigerian producer Funmbi Ogunbanwo of Fatherland Productions and UK-based producer Rachel Dargavel of Element Pictures. The film, shot in Lagos and Ibadan, explores the emotional aftermath of the 1993 presidential election and its impact on a father-son relationship. Davido pays tribute to Mohbad during Manchester show

Multi-award-winning artiste David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, paid tribute to the late singer Mohbad during his Timeless concert in Manchester, London, on Wednesday.

Displaying a photo of MohBad on stage, the 'Unavailable' crooner noted some artistes go through hard times as well but never let that stop them from doing their job. 

“As we come on stage to perform for you guys, you might not know what we artistes go through. We are human beings too. 

"It takes a lot for us to come out to perform and deliver but we do that because we love you.

"I want to give a special shout-out to my brother, I know you are in heaven watching down. Tonight we gonna turn out for you," he said.

MohBad passed away on Tuesday, September 12.
