  Man dies during wife’s 60th birthday in Lagos A man identified as Akinyele tragically slumped and died on Saturday during his wife’s 60th birthday celebration at an event centre in the Egbeda area of Lagos State. A viral video seen by our correspondent on Sunday captured the heartbreaking moment. In the footage, Akinyele was speaking on stage when he suddenly collapsed. Moments before the incident, he called his wife over and whispered a request for water. When she didn’t respond immediately, he gestured again, signalling his need for water. Seconds later, he slumped. He was said to have been quickly rushed to a nearby hospital after attempts to revive him at the venue failed. He was reportedly pronounced dead upon arrival. Efforts to confirm the incident with the Lagos State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had yet to respond to messages sent to his mobile phone at the time of filing this report.

EID-EL-MAULUD: Imbibe The Virtures Of Prophet Muhammad ,Tinubu Urges Muslims.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and beyond on this year's Eid-el-Maulud celebration, charging them to live by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

The President, in a statement said beyond celebrating the day marking the birthday of the Holy Prophet, the period should be used for deep introspection and fervent prayers.

He said Adherents should make deliberate efforts to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad. There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that Muslims can all learn from the life of the Prophet.

President Tinubu urged religious leaders to use the period to pray for the country and to admonish their followers to take the appropriate lessons from Prophet Muhammad's life in their commitment to the country.

The President has affirmed that Nigeria has arrived at an important juncture. While the government is taking all necessary measures to make the country secure and economically viable, stressing that they need the full support of the citizenry in the form of patriotism, patience, and prayers. 

He emphasized that the light is certainly bright at the end of the tunnel.

President Tinubu also urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud festival to extend their hand of fellowship to the needy and vulnerable in the spirit of the season while praying for the country and her leaders at all levels.
