The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered). I wasn’t sacked – Thaddeus Attah reacts as tribunal orders supplementary polls in Eti-Osa

Thaddeus Attah, House of Representatives member, representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, has denied reports that he was sacked by the tribunal.
Reports had said the petition tribunal in Lagos State had cancelled the House of Representatives election for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency.
The report claimed that the tribunal sacked the Labour Party candidate, who was declared the winner.
But reacting, Attah on his Twitter page said he was not sacked.
According to him, the tribunal ordered a supplementary election in the 32 polling units where election did not hold.
“No cause for alarm! I am here to clarify that I was not sacked. The Tribunal has simply ordered a re-run (supplementary election) in the 32 polling units where elections did not hold.
“We will continue working for Etiosa.
“I urge constituents to keep calm as we are unshaken. We will get through this together,” he said.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
