 Nigerian man takes up the challenge to be bur!ed alive for 24hours A Nigerian man who identifies as Young C has embarked on a challenge to be buried alive in a coffin for 24 hours.  He made this known in a series of posts on his Instagram page on Wednesday,  stating that the stunt was genuine and not a hoax.  He announced his intention to broadcast live footage from the coffin at night. Sharing a video on his Instagram account on Wednesday, he said, "I am going to be spending the next 24 hours buried in this casket. Guys, this is real, not fake.  "And the most amazing part is that I am going to go live by night." In a subsequent update, Young C revealed that he had been buried for over 8 hours and was experiencing physical discomfort, including excessive sweating.  Igwe Obele Of Nawfia Celebrates 2023 New Yam  Festival


 


The Traditional Ruler of Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Daniel Obele, has performed the 2023 “iwa ji” festival of his community, 


The event which was held at the Palace of the traditional ruler attracted his counterpart from Abacha in Idemili North Local Government Area, Igwe Godwin Odiegwu, people from all walks of life, including sons and daughters of the community.


Guests and attendees to the event were adorned in flamboyant traditional attires as an array of masquerades, cultural music, rhythmic beat of drums echoed throughout the arena. 


Igwe Obele while officially cutting the new yam, stressed that the significance of festival is in preserving the cultural identity of his people and Ndigbo in general. 


He stated that the festival is not a mere celebration of harvest but a testament to thier enduring traditions and the vital role of agriculture in their lives.


The traditional ruler appreciated Governor Chukwuma Soludo for restoring peace to the town and while praying for peace, progress, unity and harmony to be restored to the community.


Earlier during a mass to herald the ceremony, , Reverend Father Jude Ezeanokwasa from St Anthony Catholic Parish, Nawfia, led prayers and invoked blessings on the community. 


In their separate speeches, the Anambra State Commissioner For Economic Planning and Budget, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye who are indigenes of the community thanked their people for the peaceful celebration and promised towards bringing a lasting peace to the community.


Speaking during the event, the President General Of the Community, Mr. Daniel Okoye, thanked Ndi Nawfia for coming together to celebrate the new yam festival in grand style, noting that the new yam festival over the years, has been a rallying point for the community.


In his remarks, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu who came to felicitate Igwe Obele, described new yam festival as a cultural heritage of Ndigbo, which must be upheld, and commended Igwe Obele for the communal love that he has restored to Nawfia. 


Other distinguished also highlighted the role of new yam festival in fostering unity  and passing down cherished traditions to younger generations.


Different groups, youths, families, as well as business associates also paid homage to Igwe Obele.
