  INEC rejects petition to recall Senator Natasha, declares it inadequate The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the petition to recall the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has not met the requirements. In a short statement on Thursday, the electoral commission said the petition to recall Senator Natasha did not meet constitutional requirements. “The petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended),” INEC wrote on its X handle. Pickpocket Narrates How He Makes Over N80, 000 Daily As OCHA Brigade Parades 34 Criminal Suspects 


Operatives of the Operation Clean And Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, Taskforce and Anambra Vigilante Service have arrested three pickpockets, around Upper Iweka, Onitsha.

Chukwuemeka Okafor, from Orlu, Imo state is suspected to lead the three-man gang. 

The gang was arrested while conducting the act yesterday. 

Their mode of operation, according to the Brigade, was to partner a driver and a conductor to deprive unsuspecting members of the public their hard earned money. 

They confessed to the crime and said that he learnt the business from some group of friends in Onitsha. 

He revealed they make roughly N80,000 everyday. 

According to him, working with a driver and conductor is usually easy to intimidate or harassing any one who catches them in the act.

He pleaded mercy while advising residents to always be careful and mindful of anyone who sits besides them especially in Onitsha as there could be many fraudulent activities going on in the buses without their knowledge
  
Addressing the press shortly after the parade of over 34 suspects charged with different crimes and criminality, the Public Relations Officer of OCHA Brigade, Mr. Anthony Agbafune said the agency would make the state uninhabitable for all criminal elements.

He said the officers observed that the suspects, who were rove the said area in the commercial bus, looked suspicious and that they looked uneasy after driving past the officers.  
   
He revealed that the officers kept track of the suspects for a few minutes, before double-crossing their vehicle somewhere in the city. 

He urged Ndi Anambra to be vigilant and conscious of their environment at all times and ensure that any suspicious movements are reported to the agency or to the nearest Police Station.  

He promised that the suspects will be handed over to the police and charged to court for different count charges including impersonation, touting, selling of hard drugs, defilement, illegal revenue collection among others.
