  A 23-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Osarugbe, has died in Libya. African beauty products   She passed away at about 11:33am on Friday, April 4, 2025 after battling illness.    Anti-human trafficking advocate, Yakubu Oyiza and her team had been raising money to bring her back to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her.    According to Oyiza, documents for burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged, all costing approximately 350,000.   She alleged that the family abandoned her since she fell sick and had earlier refused to go to Kano and pick her up the day she was supposed to be brought back to Nigeria.    In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, Oyiza revealed that some family members of the deceased called them asking for Osas’ properties. Senate confirms Olayemi Cardoso as CBN Governor, others

The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Mr Olayemi Cardoso as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

Other nominees who were confirmed as Deputies to Olayemi are: Emem Usoro, Muhammad Abdullahi-Dattijo Philip Ikeazor and Bala Bello.

Their screening commenced after hours of closed-door meeting which was presided by the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabío, having resumed from a two month annual recess.

DAILY POST reports that the exchange rate between the Naira and other currencies especially the United States Dollars dominated the lawmakers’ questions.

The lawmakers lamented economic woes, particularly the free fall of the Naira.

Senators Jimoh Ibrahim, Adams Oshiomhole, Elisha Abbo expressed their discontents and urged the new CBN team to “look outside the box to see a way of strengthening the Naira.”

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
