  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. Son smashes father to death for refusing to give him money

A teenager simply identified as Ikechi has smashed his father to death with a pestle at Rumuaghaolu in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Our reporter learnt that the suspect had requested an undisclosed amount of money from the father and became infuriated when the deceased refused to give him the money.

An eyewitness said that the enraged boy got hold of a pestle and smashed it on his father’s head.

The witness said the deceased died on the spot.

“He was enraged over the father’s refusal to give him money yesterday (Thursday). The boy was suspected to be on drugs. He was asking his dad for money and he refused to give him. He carried the pestle and hit him,” the eyewitness said.

When contacted, Rivers State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the incident.

She said that the suspect had been arrested by the police. (Daily Trust: Text).

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
