 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country. Taraba: Gunmen kill wife in husband’s presence, police on trail

Some gunmen killed a housewife and wounded her husband in Jalingo, Taraba State capital, on Sunday.
The spokesman of the state Police Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, disclosed the unfortunate incident to Daily Trust in a telephone interview.
The incident occurred at the Mile 6 area of Jalingo metropolis of the state.
Abdullahi mentioned that the attackers entered the house of one Mr. Balanko Gamalia and shot him and his wife in an attempt to abduct them.
The wife was reported to have died on the spot while the injured husband is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Jalingo.
He added that two persons, including a woman, were abducted in the house.
Abdullahi noted that the police are on the trail of the kidnappers.
The police spokesman urged members of the public to provide information to the police to enable them to track down criminal elements in society.
On May 7, gunmen attacked the Care Taker Committee chairman of Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, Mr. Boyi Manja, and killed his Orderly before taking him to an unknown location, PUNCH reports.
