 HARDSHIP: REP UGBOR FAULTS BENUE UNIVERSITY'S PROPOSED TUITION FEE HIKE 7th April, 2025      House of Representatives member for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency, Terseer Ugbor, has called for a thorough overhaul of the Benue State’s higher education system, citing concerns over the proposed tuition fee hike at Benue State University, BSU, and observed that the proposed increment is capable of igniting students’ protest. Ugbor, former chairman of the Ad-hoc Committee on Student Loans and Access to Higher Education, who was reacting to the proposed tuition fees at the Benue State University, in a statement by his media aide, Fred Dagu, at the weekend in Makurdi, emphasized the need for reforms to alleviate the financial burden on disadvantaged students. Tribunal affirms Sanwo-Olu’s election


The Lagos State governorship election petition tribunal, has affirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election.


Justice Mikhail Abdullah affirmed Sanwo-Olu’s victory while dismissing the petitions of governorship candidates of the Labour Party, LP, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, GRV, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olajide Adediran.


GRV and Adediran filed separate petitions to contest the outcome of the last governorship election in the state.


However, the tribunal headed by Justice Abdullah dismissed the petitions.
