 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler. Abducted Delta community leader, three others escape from kidnappers’ den



The abducted President-General of Amukpe Community, Sapele Local Government Area Delta State, Mr Harrison Ekeleme and three others have escaped from kidnappers’ den.

Ekeleme and the three young men were abducted along the Warri-Sapele Expressway by armed men some days ago.

A senior police officer, who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen that a covert police operation led by SP Harrison Nwabuisi of Sapele Division closed in on the kidnappers, forcing them to abandon their victims.

Confirming his release, Ekeleme thanked God for sparing his life, saying “It was a horrific experience, saying the kidnappers seemed familiar with the routes around Warri and neighbouring villages.

“I never lost hope in our security agencies,” he said

Confirming the development, the Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Hon Eugene Inoaghan, commended the police and assured residents of continued efforts to stamp out crimes from the locality.
