 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. The United States and European Union in October designated Hamas a terrorist organisation because of its armed resistance against Israel, which has included suicide bombings and rocket attacks.
Hamas is a Palestinian political and military organization. It was founded in the late 1980s with the goal of liberating Palestine, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem, from Israeli control.
Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by several countries, including the United States, Canada, the European Union, and Israel.
It has engaged in both political and armed resistance against Israel, and it currently governs the Gaza Strip, a territory on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea that is bordered by Israel and Egypt.
Hamas is known for its Islamist ideology and has both a political wing and a military wing.
