 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. Davido, Burna Boy, others nominated for MTV EMAs inaugural Afrobeats category

Organisers of the MTV Europe Music Awards have introduced a brand new category ‘Best Afrobeats’ in its 2023 edition.
The category was included in 2023 MTV EMA nomination list, which was made public on Wednesday, September 4th.
Mega stars Davido, Rema, Burna Boy, Asake, Ayra Starr and French sensation Aya Nakamura are the category’s inaugural candidates.
Rema’s collaborative hit track ‘Calm Down’ with America’s Selena Gomez was nominated in the ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ categories.
Burna Boy, Asake, Tanzanian star, Diamond Platnumz, Cameroonian diva, Libianca, and South Africa’s Tyler ICU were nominated in the ‘Best African Act’ category.
Burna Boy was also nominated in the “Best Live Performer” alongside Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd (who now goes by his birth name, Abel Tesfaye), and others.
American singer, Taylor Swift led all nominees for the 2023 MTV EMAs with seven nods including; ‘Best Artist’, ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Video’, the latter for her single ‘Anti-Hero.’
The 2023 MTV EMAs is scheduled for November 5, 2023, in Paris, France and would be broadcasted live to more than 150 countries.

He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
