Ember Months: FRSC Partners Key Stakeholders

As part of activities to mark this year's ember months celebration, the Federal Road Safety Corps-FRSC is to partner key stakeholders in a bid to minimise road crashes within Kaduna and its environs.

State Sector Commander Kabiru Yusuf Nadabo stated this at an interactive session with newsmen in Kaduna.

Mr Kabiru Yusuf Nadabo explained that religious leaders, traditional rulers, road transport unions, market women, entertainers amongst others will feature in the official flag off of the exercise at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium next Monday.

He pointed out that the aim was to widen the scope of the motoring public on the basic tips of traffic safety in conformity with the new world order.

The Sector Commander emphasised that the job of the FRSC was not to intimidate motorists, stressing that 55 percent of its duty is about sensitization on the need to adhere to traffic rules.

Mr Kabiru Yusuf Nadabo said the public enlightenment advocacy would be taken to all the senatorial districts of the State with a view to reducing the rate of traffic accidents to the barest minimum.

He added that awards would be presented to 6 transport unions that have identified with the sector command, as well as the popular radio presenter of 'oga driver' and a female truck driver of over twenty years.

Similarly, Kaduna State Council Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists-NUJ, Hajiya Asma'u Halilu will also be honoured at the event.

Responding, Hajiya Asma'u Halilu commended the Sector Commander for identifying with the Council, and pledged the council's support to the FRSC.
