 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. First class student dies in car accident weeks after burying father

young Nigerian student with First Class honours identified as Chidera John tragically loses her life in an accident just a month after her father’s funeral.

Chidera had recently achieved an academic milestone by graduating with first-class honours in Biochemistry a week after the burial of her father.

Reports indicate that Chidera, 22 years old student, passed away on October 14th. Regrettably, her promising life was cut short when she was involved in an accident on October 14, 2023.

A colleague, Jerry Godsent who made the announcement via Facebook lamented the pain of losing such a brilliant student and friend.

He further shared snapshots of Chidera celebrating her First Class honours on Facebook barely two weeks before the accident that claimed her life.

My Chidera John buried her father on 21 September 2023
Graduated with first class honours in Biochemistry on the 30th of September 2023.
Had an accident and died on the 14th of October 2023.
Late Miss Chidera John from Abia State happens to be the only child.
