 NIGERIAN NAVY SHIP SOROH CONDUCTS MEDICAL RHAPSODY IN BAYELSA STATE On Friday 4 April 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH led by the Commander, Commodore OA Akinbami conducted a Medical Rhapsody in Tombia Community, Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State. The Rhapsody had series of services rendered to members of the Community which included free general consultation, free blood pressure checks, eye screening with free medicated glasses, free laboratory tests, free insecticide treated nets as well as health talk. In his remarks, the Commander NNS SOROH stated that the outreach was in line with the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral EI Ogalla’s strategic directive to all Commands, Ships and Establishments to conduct a medical outreach to host communities. Lastly, he said that the outreach will enhance Civil Military relationship with the host community thereby aiding intelligence gathering.  Hon Minister of State, Senior Police Officers Attend 130th IACP Convention in San Diego


At the opening ceremony of the 130th Annual Convention and Expo, held at the San Diego Convention Centre, San Diego, Califonia, USA today 14th Oct, 2023, with the Hon Minister of State, Police Affairs, Hajia Imman Sulaiman-Ibrahim, DIG DFI, Habu Sani, CP Stanley Udeh, Desk officer IACP, DC Ops Oyo, Akin Adejobi, and other senior officers from Nigeria. The Convention will host more than 16,000 participants, who are Police officers and law enforcement agents across the world. The Nigeria Police Force has a very large number of officers as members of the association. The Convention will last till 17th Oct, 2023, with the elections of top IACP officials, which come up on Monday 16th Oct, 2023 after the General Assembly. We will be updating as events unfold.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
