 Zango Kataf, Jaba PDP Committees Hold Reconciliation Meeting Ahead Of 2027 Elections The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Working Committees in Zango Kataf and Jaba Local Government Areas have held a strategic reconciliation meeting aimed at strengthening party unity and positioning the party for success in the 2027 general elections. The meeting, held on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Jaba Local Government Area, was jointly chaired by the PDP Chairmen of Jaba and Zango Kataf LGAs, Sabastine David Bijiri and Martins Markus Koyah. It brought together party executives, stakeholders, ward officials, elders, youth and women leaders, as well as members from both local government areas. Speaking at the meeting, the Zango Kataf PDP Chairman commended party leaders and members for supporting the zoning of the party’s House of Representatives ticket to Zango Kataf Local Government Area. I lost roles because film makers tagged me ‘ugly’ – Funke Akindele

Ace actress and film maker, Funke Akindele has recounted how she was constantly denied movie roles at some point due to the fact that some people practically labelled her ‘ugly’.
She mentioned having to deal with unpleasant comments from film makers about her physique and looks saddened her.

The ‘Jenifa Diary’ maker and star recalled how she broke down in tears every time they passed those uncomplimentary remarks, further rubbing salt to her injury by withholding roles from her.

On Toke Makinwa’s podcast, “Toke Moments”, Akindele who recently released a mini series, “She Must Be Obeyed” also disclosed being maligned over her looks even in the Yoruba movie scene and denied roles as a result.

The twin mom described how Iyabo Ojo intervened on different occasions when movie makers refused her roles and when any tried to consider her for a role, it would usually be a minor one.

“I remember people telling me, ‘You are not fine. You don’t have ass. You don’t have boobs. You will not be in this film. 

“And, I remember crying. A lot of times I would cry, break down, get into the bathroom and cry,” she recollected.
