 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower. I lost roles because film makers tagged me ‘ugly’ – Funke Akindele

Ace actress and film maker, Funke Akindele has recounted how she was constantly denied movie roles at some point due to the fact that some people practically labelled her ‘ugly’.
She mentioned having to deal with unpleasant comments from film makers about her physique and looks saddened her.

The ‘Jenifa Diary’ maker and star recalled how she broke down in tears every time they passed those uncomplimentary remarks, further rubbing salt to her injury by withholding roles from her.

On Toke Makinwa’s podcast, “Toke Moments”, Akindele who recently released a mini series, “She Must Be Obeyed” also disclosed being maligned over her looks even in the Yoruba movie scene and denied roles as a result.

The twin mom described how Iyabo Ojo intervened on different occasions when movie makers refused her roles and when any tried to consider her for a role, it would usually be a minor one.

“I remember people telling me, ‘You are not fine. You don’t have ass. You don’t have boobs. You will not be in this film. 

“And, I remember crying. A lot of times I would cry, break down, get into the bathroom and cry,” she recollected.

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours.
