 UNACCEPTABLE – GOV. ALIA BLASTS MBALOM KILLINGS, ASSURES JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS  Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has condemned the latest attack on Mbalom community in Gwer East Local Government Area, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable, while assuring residents of intensified efforts to protect lives and property. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor reacted to reports of an assault by suspected armed herdsmen on the community, an incident that adds to recurring security concerns in parts of the state. Alia said the attack represents a direct threat to the peace and security of Benue, noting a disturbing pattern of what he described as calculated and selective assaults. He expressed sympathy to affected families and reiterated his administration’s resolve to confront criminal elements. Ilebaye’s win undeserving, says Reality star Kachi

Ultimate Love reality TV show housemate Kachi Ucheagwu has berated and undermined the victory of the pronounced winner of the BBNaija All-Stars, Ilebaye Odiniya. 
The Nation reports the 22-year-old housemate won the grand prize of N120m on Sunday. 
Reflecting on the win, Kachi argued it was undeserving while stating that it was sympathy-oriented rather than by merit.
He argued the stunted growth of the nation is a product of the same sympathy for unqualified rulers.
“As Nigeria celebrates her Independence, The winner of #BBNaijaAllStar may be a true reflection of the current state of Nigeria where Pity and Sympathy prevail against meritocracy. Is she deserving of it, only time will tell,” he wrote.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
