  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. POLAC ANNOUNCES DATES FOR 10th REGULAR COURSE AUTOMATED SCREENING PROCESSES


 ... as Commandant warns candidates, parents/guardians to be wary of scammers

 The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC) invites all Candidates who successfully completed their online registration for admission into the 10th Regular Course of the Academy, for Automated Physical/Credential Screening, Computer-Based Test (CBT), Medical Screening and Board Interview. The exercise is scheduled to hold from Monday 6th, November to Wednesday 30th, November, 2023 by 0800hrs daily at the Nigeria Police Academy.

2. All applicants are to kindly visit polac.edu.ng to print their invitation slips from 21st October, 2023.
They are also expected to finish their screening on the day of their invitation. 

3. He added that, only those who pass the CBT will be accommodated in POLAC to proceed to the next stage of the exercise which is the Medical Screening and subsequently, the Board Interview. 
Consequently, all applicants are to appear at the screening centre in their clean white T-shirt and short, with the following mandatory basic screening requirements, neatly arranged in two white flat files with a recent passport photographs attached:
 a. Evidence of physical/mental fitness from a government recognized Medical Hospital
b. Evidence of Good character from Village/District Head of the applicant.
c. Certificate of Origin signed by Local Government Chairman or Secretary.
d. National Identity Number (NIN) - Slip Print -out
e. Original and duplicate copies of credentials – O’ Level Result(s), Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age, and JAMB result print-out.
f. Print-out of application form.
g. Duly completed Guarantor’s form.
h. Invitation slip.

4. Any candidate who fails to present the items (a - h) mentioned in Paragraph 3 above, will not be considered for screening.
They are equally advised to pay attention to their scheduled date and time, as well as other details and specific guidelines on the screening exercise.

5. The Commandant, AIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar PhD, mni, has assured transparency and accountability through out the screening exercise. The Commandant, while reiterating that the Admission Exercise is absolutely free-of-charge, advised applicants to be wary of criminal elements who may want to take undue advantage of the exercise. He however, warned that anyone found wanting will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
